At the time of booking, customers are given the opportunity to choose the type of accommodation. Customers should include all requests related to the accommodation (e.g., type of layout, extra beds, etc.) in the comments section, which will be considered based on availability. At check-in, customers will be asked for a valid credit card to charge for goods or services during their stay.
In the case of payments by bank transfer, the customer must contact the hostel via email or phone to request the banking details. The payment deadline, during high season (June, July, August, and September) is 1 hour after booking, in low season (March, April, May, October) is 3 days after booking. The payment receipt should be sent to the following email: info@hostelpraia.com. If this deadline is exceeded without payment being made, the reservation will be considered canceled.
Failure to pay the amounts related to the reservation on the above-mentioned dates implies the cancellation of the same without the right to any refund of amounts already paid, without prejudice to the provisions of the following point.
If cancellation occurs after the final payment of the reservation, the amount paid will not be refunded. To avoid the loss of the amounts paid, we recommend taking out reservation insurance. Changes to the reservation may be made by contacting the hostel, subject to availability.
The hostel reserves the right to charge the customer for costs related to losses and damages caused by them and/or additional guests of the reservation, in any goods located in the accommodation unit or common areas of the establishment, whether caused intentionally or negligently. The charge on the credit card may occur after the check-out date. No amount will be charged without prior information to the customer.
The hostel also reserves the right to charge the customer the necessary cost to replace any item that has been removed from the accommodation without authorization, which may also occur after the check-out date. No amount will be charged without prior information to the customer.
We do not directly request personal data from minors for booking purposes. The data of minors who are additional guests of the stays must be provided by those holding parental responsibilities.
In terms of the provisions of article 48º nº4 of Decree-Law 39/2008 of 07.03.2008, in its current wording, access and use of the services, equipment, and facilities of the hostel are reserved for its guests and their companions, being denied access to those not in these circumstances.
In terms of the provisions of Notice no. 5384/2024/2, of March 13, the Portimão Tourist Tax applies to all overnight stays occurring from March 14 onwards, only considering the reservations made after this date.
Reservations already received for dates after the entry into force of this tax will not be taken into account for the purposes of applying this tax.
The tax is charged per person/overnight stay in all tourist establishments and local accommodation establishments, up to a maximum of 7 consecutive nights per person/stay.
